Doing it yourself on a builder typically runs 1 to 3 months of part time evenings. Ours are normally live within one week of the first call, and the difference is not magic, it is scope and decisions.

Where the weeks actually go

Not into typing code. A typical agency timeline spends its weeks on kickoff meetings, mockup rounds, feedback cycles, content chasing and approval queues. The building is days; the waiting is weeks. Which points at the real levers: how much needs deciding, and how fast decisions come back.

  1. The 15 minute call. Your services, prices, hours and story, collected in one pass. This call is most of the project.
  2. Build days. We write and build against what you told us, with real pages, not mockups.
  3. The photoshoot, if your bundle has one. Usually a weekend, at your business, so it never blocks the build.
  4. One review against the live preview. You see the actual site and we change what needs changing. Three rounds are included.
  5. Live. Domain connected, site up, normally within one week of that first call.

When longer is the honest answer

Online stores, customer logins, booking systems with live availability, custom software: these genuinely take the weeks the agencies quote, because they are software projects with testing and edge cases. That is also why we do not build them. A five page informational site is a different kind of job, and pretending it needs eight weeks is how it ends up priced like it.
